Our physiotherapy team are experts in treatment for case management clients. We are highly organised, punctual and communicative, and pride ourselves on delivering excellent packages of care to our case management clients.
We have a case management package including our terms, CVs, fees, membership numbers and areas covered. Please email for a copy of this.
Our physiotherapists work with case managers and their clients to provide the following streamlined package of care:
Meet and greet
We understand that the client-therapist relationship is crucial to effective treatment and the best outcomes. We offer a free of charge ‘meet and greet’ for potential referrals to give the client and their family a taste of our values and approach at Bumble Bee Physio, and an opportunity to decide whether we are the right match, after a friendly face-to-face consultation.
Assessment
We recognise the increased demands on families and clients during the initial instruction period, with lots of therapists and professionals involved. So we make our assessment process as efficient as possible, compiling most of the medical history and physiotherapy findings from other documentation where provided. We work together with all professionals involved in the client’s care, and where possible, we write joint goals and programmes with other therapists, for a simplified and effective plan.
Our thorough initial assessment (first visit) reports and equipment recommendations are provided within five working days of the physical assessment. Our report outlines the client’s strengths, weaknesses, physical observations and findings, appropriate referrals, evidence-based outcome measures, recommendations for physiotherapy intervention, and clinically relevant SMART goals, as discussed and agreed with the client and their family. We provide a list of equipment recommendations, each with its own clinical reasoning form for deputy approval.
Joint working (team working)
Where appropriate and agreed, we work with schools and NHS professionals. This usually involves attendance at education health care plan assessment and review meetings, attendance at orthopaedic reviews, attendance at paediatrician reviews when appropriate, and liaison with teachers, NHS therapists and private therapists. All communication will include the client’s family and case manager. For particularly complex clients, the best and highest standard of equipment and expertise may only be available through the NHS (for example, highly specialist wheelchairs). Our physiotherapists know the relevant contact details and referral process for these services, and can speed up the referral process. Our physiotherapy team may request attendance at appointments where their input could be useful. This may include paediatrician follow-ups where musculoskeletal intervention is required, such as Botox, orthopaedic appointments or dietician appointments. Depending on the client’s needs, we may write a report for a specific appointment, or speak with professionals and parents on the phone during the appointment.
Update reports and progress
Our clients are at the centre of everything we do, and functional, client-centred, science-based goals are set in short-term (six weeks) and long-term (six months) time frames at the initial assessment. All of the skills gained in these goals are aiming towards a motivating skill for the client. The client’s goals and other physical findings such as range of movement and posture, are monitored every six weeks and documented in the update report provided to the client and their family, and the case manager for the legal team.
Exercises
We have our very own talented illustrator who creates bespoke beautiful diagrams which are easy to follow, age appropriate and inclusive. Our physiotherapists will also send clients videos of exercises where requested, and most of our exercises can also be found on our YouTube channel and Facebook page.
Therapy assistants
Some of our superhero clients have complex presentations and have grown super tall! Where required, we provide physiotherapy assistants to help with therapy. All of our therapy assistants are highly experienced in working with clients with complex needs, communication differences and challenging behaviour. The Bumble Bee Physio team receive extensive, frequent and bespoke Moving and Handling training.
Assessment reports
More detailed and thorough reports are provided six-monthly or annually, depending on the client’s needs. These will include long term changes and goals, equipment recommendations, future hopes and aspirations and key outcome measures, such as the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM).
Tribunal and EHCP reports
Our physiotherapy team is highly experienced at writing medico-legal and tribunal reports for EHCP needs, equipment needs and housing facilities. Please contact for more details. Prices are available upon request, and vary for each client. We also write many Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) reports and are happy to provide these in addition to the initial assessment, if required.
